About TMC

TMC Transportation specializes in hauling freight that requires an open deck trailer (flatbed trailer). Drivers hold a Class-A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). A typical week for TMC drivers consists of delivery of five loads with an average daily length-of-haul that is less than 500 miles. TMC is a regional carrier, meaning that drivers generally stay within a 1,200-mile radius of their home and then go home on weekends. With our performance pay structure, drivers don’t rely on lots of miles to make great pay.

Common freight that our drivers haul are items such as steel products, lumber, wallboard, pipe, and other building materials that must be hauled on a flatbed trailer. After the product is loaded by a forklift or crane, drivers secure the loads onto the trailers. Some loads require tarping.

Opportunities

TMC has been providing highly effective on-the-job training for over 40 years. Even drivers who are brand new to the industry are trained and have the confidence they need to do the job safely. For those who love driving but don’t like the sedentary lifestyle that often comes with trucking, flatbed is a great solution!

  • First-year drivers are earning up to $88,000/year
  • Paid orientation & training: $650 for students after they have a CDL
  • CDL School Tuition Reimbursement
