MTC Truck Driver Training and Saint Louis County Celebrate Milestone

Since January 2023, MTC Truck Driver Training, in partnership with Saint Louis County, has proudly celebrated the graduation of 100 students who have successfully obtained their Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs). This achievement is a testament to our shared commitment to addressing the critical national shortage of commercial drivers, an essential component of our nation’s supply chain.

Nick Brucks, Business Development for MTC Truck Driver Training, expressed his gratitude for the partnership saying, “This milestone is more than just a number; it’s a reflection of lives changed and futures shaped. We are incredibly grateful for the partnership with Saint Louis County, which has allowed us to provide CDL training in St. Louis, Mo. and to make a tangible difference in our community.”

Saint Louis County, a pivotal hub for national logistics, is leading the charge in workforce development. County Executive Dr. Sam Page highlighted the significance of this achievement: “St. Louis is a hub for national logistics and this partnership proves once again why Saint Louis County is Opportunity Central,” said County Executive Dr. Sam Page. “Nearly half of the jobs in the metropolitan region are in Saint Louis County, and one-fourth of all jobs in Missouri are located here. That’s because we work hard to create new opportunities – new pathways to success.”

By removing financial barriers, the program acts as a bridge, aligning the needs of the trucking industry with available talent through our CDL Training program in St. Louis, Mo.

The four-week training program in St. Louis, Mo. provides participants with the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary to obtain their CDLs. With three in four participants securing jobs upon completion, graduates frequently find employment with major transportation companies such as Hogan Transport, Covenant Logistics, Schneider National, and TMC Transportation. Starting salaries for these roles range from $65,000 to $85,000*, offering a promising start to their new careers.

“At MTC Truck Driver Training, our mission is to empower individuals through education and training,” says Brucks. “We are proud to partner with Saint Louis County in this endeavor, and together, we are making a lasting impact on the lives of our graduates and the strength of our workforce.”

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to shape the future of our community and industry.
